Pay Once Program | Lifetime Repair Coverage

What Is the Pay Once Program?

The Pay Once Program is Colonial Hyundai's lifetime repair coverage for the everyday fixes cars need again and again. Pay one time for a qualifying repair of $200 or more at our New London service center, and that repair, parts and labor both, costs nothing every time it is needed after that, for as long as the vehicle is yours.

Before the details, here is the program the way we would explain it to a neighbor:

  1. You pay for a qualifying repair the normal way. Say the stop-and-go traffic on I-95 has finally worn through your brake pads and rotors. You bring your car to our service center on Broad Street in New London and we replace them. You pay for that repair once, the same as you would at any shop.
  2. When that same repair comes due again, the bill is zero. The parts are FREE and the labor is FREE. Not a coupon. Not a percentage off. Zero.
  3. Both sides of the repair stay covered. Whatever the job needs, new pads, new rotors, a new battery, plus every hour of our technicians' time, it is all included on a covered repeat repair.
  4. It never runs out. No usage cap, no mileage cutoff, no expiration date. After that first paid repair, the same job is covered at no charge every time it comes up, until the day the vehicle leaves your name.

That is the entire program. Nothing to enroll in, nothing to buy, no membership fee. The first qualifying repair of $200 or more that you pay for starts your coverage on its own.

The Two Rules That Decide Whether a Repair Qualifies

Only two things matter. First, the repair has to come to $200 or more before tax on its line of the repair order. Second, it has to involve qualifying components. The program centers on the repairs drivers pay out of pocket for most often:

Not sure whether a repair makes the cut? Ask your Service Advisor before the work begins, or call our service department at (860) 443-8432 and you will have your answer before you commit to anything.

What Makes This Worth Knowing About

Brakes and batteries are the repairs that keep coming back. Pads wear down, batteries lose their charge in a Connecticut winter, and most drivers pay full price for the same job over and over across the life of a car. Pay Once ends that cycle after the first bill. It costs nothing extra, since the coverage rides along automatically with a repair you were paying for anyway. There is no card to carry and no paperwork to keep, because our team tracks your covered repairs for you. And the terms are published right on this page, including the exclusions, so you know where the boundaries sit before you ever need to use it.

What Pay Once Does Not Cover

Every honest lifetime program has edges, and you should know ours before your first visit. The exclusions customers ask about most:

  • Individual repairs under $200 per line on the original repair order
  • Parts that were not listed on your original repair order, because coverage attaches to the specific repair you paid for rather than the whole vehicle
  • Conditions that existed before your coverage began
  • Cosmetic and trim items, such as body panels, bumpers, glass, upholstery and door trim, handles, bulbs, belts, filters, wheels and rims, hardware, and paint. If a specific part has you wondering, just ask.

This covers the questions we hear most often, not the complete program terms, which your Service Advisor can go through with you anytime. The simplest habit is also the best one: ask whether a repair qualifies before the work starts, and there are no surprises later.

Pay Once and Hyundai's Factory Warranty Do Two Different Jobs

Hyundai backs every new Hyundai with America's Best Warranty, which includes a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty for the original owner and a 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty. That coverage is excellent at what it was built for: fixing defects in materials and workmanship. What no factory warranty is built for is paying for the parts that wear out through normal driving, and even the longest coverage in the industry still ends at a set number of years or miles.

Pay Once was designed for exactly that leftover territory. It covers the repeat repairs a warranty never touches, like brake pads and batteries, and it has no expiration at all while you own the vehicle. The two work side by side rather than overlapping. One more difference worth underlining: your factory warranty came with your new Hyundai, but Pay Once is open to any vehicle serviced at Colonial Hyundai, no matter where it was purchased or what badge is on the hood.

Pay Once Questions, Answered

Does My Vehicle Have to Be a Hyundai?

No. Pay Once is tied to where your vehicle is serviced, not to the brand or to where you bought it. Any vehicle serviced at Colonial Hyundai can qualify, whether it came from our lot, another dealer, a private seller, or out of state. Your first qualifying repair of $200 or more starts the coverage on that repair.

What Counts as a Qualifying Repair?

A repair line of $200 or more before tax that involves qualifying components. Brake work (pads, rotors, calipers), battery replacements, and other eligible mechanical repairs all count. Your Service Advisor will confirm before any work begins, or call (860) 443-8432, or reach us anytime through our contact page.

What Does the Program Cost?

Nothing beyond the first repair itself. There is no enrollment fee, no membership, and nothing for sale. You pay for your first qualifying repair the way you would pay for any repair, and the lifetime coverage on it comes included automatically.

Does the Coverage Apply to My Whole Car?

No, and this is the detail worth remembering. Coverage attaches to the specific repair you paid for, not to the vehicle overall. Pay for a brake repair and your brakes are covered. Your battery earns its own coverage with its own first qualifying replacement, and so on.

Can I Use the Coverage When I'm Traveling?

Yes. Your coverage is honored at licensed repair facilities nationwide, so a breakdown far from New London does not void anything. When you are home, bring the vehicle to Colonial Hyundai and we handle the claim for you.

What If I Sell or Trade the Vehicle?

The moment the vehicle is sold, traded, or otherwise transferred, the coverage is gone. It does not pass to the new owner and it does not follow you to your next car. Each vehicle in your household earns its own coverage with its own first qualifying repair.

Start Your Coverage in New London

Since there is no sign-up, starting your Pay Once coverage simply means bringing your vehicle in the next time it needs work. Colonial Hyundai is located at 452 Broad Street in New London, Connecticut, serving drivers across greater New London and southeastern Connecticut. Call us at (860) 443-8432, and if your repair qualifies, the coverage begins the day you pay for it.
