New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe vs. Older Generations

We've all seen the major facelift that the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe got, with a new body, styling, and interior worth taking a second (or third) stare at. Hyundai has elevated the Santa Fe in ways like never before, bringing it a luxury look. However, we want to dive into how the new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe redesign holds up to the classic-style SUV and what changes have been made to it in its latest generation. Stay tuned.

Hyundai Santa Fe Redesign of Exterior

One of the most obvious updates with the Hyundai Santa Fe redesign is its exterior and new body size and shape. Unlike the previous, smaller SUV, which had a rounded front-to-rear styling, the all-new Santa Fe is boxy, features H-line aesthetics, and has a longer wheelbase.

  • Specifically, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's wheelbase has grown to 110.8 inches, and its total length now sits at an impressive 190.2 inches. Its LED front and rear lighting, Range-Rover style grille, and aesthetic make this one of Hyundai's most daring overhauls ever.

Hyundai Santa Fe Redesign of Interior

The inside of the Santa Fe feels significantly bigger across its trim levels than previous generations, with the redesign offering you a panoramic dashboard display, larger-than-ever touchscreens, extra wiggle room in the back two rows for kids, guests, and pets, plus luxury trim and seating standard.

Some things we love:

  • Digital rear vision mirror
  • Two 12.3-inch screens
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Premium Bose sound system

New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe vs. Old Hyundai Santa Fe

The new Hyundai Santa Fe redesign has improved this SUV, especially looking back to this release's third and fourth generations. We will compare all three generations below to give you a better understanding of just how much this model has been updated.

5th Generation: 2024 - Present

The fifth and newest generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe is its largest, fanciest, most rugged, and most equipped version. As we shared, this seven-seater SUV has a luxury feel inside and outside, plus standard three-row seating we have not seen for a while in Santa Fe. The tech and safety are greatly improved compared to 2013-onward, and you can't beat the spaciousness of this longer, taller Santa Fe.

4th Generation: 2019 - 2023

Comparing the fourth generation Hyundai Santa Fe to the fifth and latest one, you want to remember this was smaller, rounder, and less fancy. Standard specifications on a fourth-gen Santa Fe included:

  • Cloth upholstery
  • Heated front seats
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Bluetooth streaming audio
  • Satellite Radio
  • 7-inch display screen

You now have things like two 12.3-inch screens, wireless charging, extended passenger space and seat capacity, a wide H on the dashboard and smaller H's on the seat backs, a UV-C sanitizer in the glovebox, and the cargo room that well surpasses the previous cycle's offering.

3rd Generation: 2013 - 2018

The third generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe couldn't be more different than the brand's newest refresh. Yes, there were three rows, but the seating and trim were pretty basic, as were the instrument and infotainment display at the front and center of the SUV. Your tech was okay, offering a Blue Link telematics system with Bluetooth connectivity, AM/FM Radio, a six-speaker CD audio system with USB and auxiliary, and a color LCD with basic audio controls.
However, today's Santa Fe vs. 2013-2018 is night and day.

  • 2013-2018 Santa Fe dimensions: 185-193″ L x 74″ W x 66-67″ H
  • 2024 Santa Fe dimensions: 190″ L x 75″ W x 68-70″ H
